The crackdown on Civilians and opposition Party members in Zimbabwe remains on the rise as the state of civic space continues to shrink. The fundamental pillars of Civic Space, the freedoms of assembly, association and expression which are enshrined in the Constitution of Zimbabwe under Sections 58 and 61 must not only exist in the Constitution but in reality. Recent reports claim that 6 armed individuals visited the 'exiled' Harare West MDC Alliance Member of Parliament, Joana Mamombe's parents' home without a search warrant and terrorized her mother leaving her injured. The report comes barely a month after Joana Mamombe's Father was brutalized by members of the security forces during the crackdown that followed the #ShutDownZimbabwe protests also leaving him heavily injured.
