Tittle: My Inauguration Poem

Author: Poet Mc.Kenias

The greatest sin of all ages,
Is not that we have set and masterminded the plans for destruction,
But that we have sat and watched idly
Whilst bad things happen,
I mean to the child of this era.

The cruelties, obstacles,
Of this swiftly changing planet will not yield to an absolute doctrine,
Nor outsorn slogans,
It cannot be moved by a few who cling to the dying present,
Who prefer the illusions of security,
and excitement of danger which comes with the most peaceful progress,

The first danger,
Is the sentiments of being worthless,
The belief that nothing can be done by one man against the colossal arrays of the world's ills,
These ills, have caused havoc and chaos on our land,
Yet many of the world's greatest movements of thought, action
Flowed from the hands of a single man,
A young monk began the protestant reformation,
A young general extended an empire from Macedonia to the boarders of the earth,
It was due to the determined South African Nelson Mandela that we,
Many now stand, "Give me a place to stand and i will move the world."

Secretes are for sharing,
Especially the ones of peace and unity,
Moments from now,
We will be haunted not by what we did,
But by what we hesitate to do,
This world can be a better place if we stand
For the child next to us,
The woman furnishing the world motherly,
As much as a few drops of rat poison can take down a man,
So can a few acts of kindness remove the evils of this world.

Now, if this has been said and done,
Do you want to live in a dizzy land when you are in the land of your ancestors?
Do you want to look ugly when beauty is your middle name?
This nation demands the qualities of a child,
A youth, not a time of life but a state if mind,
A temper of will,
A quality of imagination,
A predominance of courage ovet timidity of the appetite for adventure over life at ease,
Lets pause for a cause and better understand the sound of the whisper,
Mighty is not right, right is might
Change today for a better tomorrow,
Sympathy without relief, is like mustard without beef, Shakespeare said.

So help me God!
